Dairy Queen Launches New Best Chocolate Cake Blizzard

To celebrate chocolate as the most popular cake flavor, the Dairy Queen system, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is calling all chocolate cake lovers for the debut of the Best Chocolate Cake Blizzard Treat and the new DQ Bakes! Molten Lava Cake á la Mode. Both are available for a limited time at participating DQ and DQ Grill & Chill locations nationwide beginning September 4.

“These treats are the perfect balance between a velvety, rich chocolate cake and cold, creamy DQ signature soft serve which adds a DQ twist to the traditional chocolate cake experience,” says Maria Hokanson, Executive Vice President of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ). “The Best Chocolate Cake Blizzard Treat and Molten Lava Cake á la Mode are the chocolate cake desserts our Fans have been waiting for. It’s definitely chocolate season at DQ in September.”

The most perfect pieces of moist chocolate cake topped with fudge frosting are hand blended with DQ’s vanilla soft serve and choco chunks to create the delectable Best Chocolate Cake Blizzard Treat. Blizzard Treats are made to order and are offered in four sizes, including the popular Mini.

Molten Lava Cake á la Mode is the newest hot-from-the-oven dessert on the DQ Bakes! menu. Fans will enjoy a rich, decadent chocolate cake with melted chocolatey fudge bursting from its molten center. The hot cake is paired with cold, creamy DQ vanilla soft serve and topped with hot fudge.

The Molten Lava Cake á la Mode is the latest innovation to come from the DQ Bakes! Institute, which was established to further inspire, develop and enhance future innovation coming from the DQ kitchen—ultimately, creating new and unique taste experiences fans can’t get anywhere else.
